Hello Timebankers! Happy Summer!
Thanks to everyone that came out to the SJC Jubilee. We had a great time.
Strategic Planning Update:
As many of you know, the TimeBank recently went through a strategic planning process and we have a fresh mission and vision statement. We also set goals, strategies and initiatives for the next several years. A big thanks to Melanie Schmidt from Timpano Consulting for guiding us through the process.
Mission: To connect people in sharing time and talents to meet needs, improve systems, and address community issues throughout Dane County.
Vision: An interconnected community in which meaningful relationships drive collective change.
By 2023, the authentic way in which the Dane County TimeBank approaches community issues will have inspired systems and social change. The active engagement of members will have generated recognized impact on an individual and collective level. The organization will be modeling resource sharing and community building that breaks down walls between diverse groups and demonstrates mutual respect and support for all.

Thank you to all of our members, staff, board, and community stakeholders who participated in the process with us. It was beautiful.
National Restorative Justice Conference in Denver:
The TimeBank’s restorative justice staff went to the national restorative justice conference in Denver. We learned a ton and are excited to bring what we learned to our community and our project. Stay tuned for an update on where things are at with our Youth Court/Restorative Justice work. We’ve got some exciting things in the works to broaden and strengthen what we’re doing. We are looking to build a team of timebank members interested in supporting our restorative justice work. Get in touch if you’re interested in learning more about joining the team and check out Davette Baker’s Transformational Leadership Series to build your knowledge and skills in supporting the movement for justice.
Transformational Leadership Series:
Please join us for this Transformational Leadership Series led by the amazing Davette Baker. In this 12 session series we will explore positionality, privilege, systems of power and oppression, and systemic racism through discussions, activities, and film. We will build our individual and collective skills around taking action, movement building, and community organizing as we work together towards justice for all. This series is open to all and particularly relevant for folx interested in education, social justice, racial justice, and restorative justice work. If you’re interested in joining in and supporting our restorative justice work, this series will give you a solid foundation on some critical components of the work. The Transformational Leadership Series is part of our Sunday Skool education and action events in collaboration with the Mutual Aid Network and are held in the Mutual Aid Workspace at the Social Justice Center.
Here’s the schedule:
As always, thanks for being part of this community. You’re all beautiful people and I’m grateful to be connected to each of you. Mutual respect for all!
