Giving Tuesday and $15 for 15 Years Campaign
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Dane County TimeBank sprang into action. Recognizing that the impacts of Covid-19 were hitting Black, Brown, and poor people the hardest, we created a Mask Giveaway pop up project. To date, we have given away over 1,300 masks, most of them hand made by TimeBank members. When George Floyd was murdered, our team held a safe space for youth downtown during the demonstrations. We joined in solidarity with Black led organizations and stood strong in support for police free schools. So far, our Letter Writing Campaign to End Violence Against Black People has delivered 2,000 letters to decision makers, editors and community organizations.
Over the summer we worked with over 300 people through our Abolitionist Restorative Justice workshops that address systemic racism, support transformation, and build towards our collective liberation. Please join us as we redefine Timebanking through an Abolitionist Restorative Justice lens. Help us grow the movement to create community justice, donate now! Give here!
In addition, we facilitated Anti-Racism Circles and Community Labs for Intentional Practice to provide an opportunity for our community to deepen their anti-racism work. We teamed up with Rooted to help grow and get food to people that needed it through our Food Justice Project. We reorganized our Transportation Project to ensure people had access to food and supplies when they were unable to leave their homes. TimeBank drivers drove hundreds of miles delivering food and supplies. Today we are asking for your help to continue our work in the Dane County community. Support here!
By donating $15-15,000, your investment makes it possible to continue these projects and deepen the abolitionist restorative justice work we do in local high schools and in our community. At the $500+ level, you make a statement that goes beyond a donation, you provide a matching grant that will ensure that our actions will continue to address systemic racism, support transformation, and build towards our collective liberation.
Over the last 15 years, we have been dedicated to providing the infrastructure community members need to share skills, resources and time with each other. Celebrate our 15 year anniversary with us by financially supporting us today. You are ensuring our survival for the next 15 years!
Given the political climate we are facing, it’s critical that we move beyond separation and polarization. Invest in this vision with us. With your help we can sustain this work on the solid foundation of community interdependence, solidarity and transformative justice. Our goal is to raise $15,000 through this $15 for 15 years campaign.
As we approach Giving Tuesday and begin our 3 day celebration for our 15 year anniversary, we ask you to join us, as we redefine Timebanking through an Abolitionist Restorative Justice lens. Tune in to our Facebook page for conversations and activities as we host 3 days of lives starting on 12/2 at 3pm. Help us grow the movement by engaging with us and donating now! True change is possible if we invest in it.
