Transportation Coordinator Job Announcement – Dane County TimeBank 


TimeBank Transportation Coordinator Opportunity:

The Transportation Coordinator will collaborate with Dane County TimeBank staff and members, as well as community partners and other stakeholders, to coordinate the TimeBank's transportation project. This position will lead the team in planning, documenting, coordinating and conducting outreach to help build transportation networks within the TimeBank. This will include promoting medical and other transportation services by matching TimeBank drivers with people needing transportation assistance. The Transportation Coordinator will facilitate transportation exchanges, driver recruitment, driver and rider orientations, and ensure proper record keeping, reporting and documentation. The Coordinator will work to build a pool of approved drivers available for transportation requests. The Coordinator will track needs and offers and communicate with riders and drivers to make ride matches. This person will represent the TimeBank’s Transportation Project at meetings and through facilitating public outreach opportunities, education, training, and events. The Coordinator will integrate project participants into the TimeBank and will work to build TimeBank resources to support the project.  The Coordinator will also be a backup driver when needed. 


The Dane County TimeBank seeks to hire a 20 hour per week Transportation Coordinator. The TimeBank recognizes that transportation is a big need within our community and the Transportation Coordinator will help to build transportation networks through the TimeBank. This part time position pays $18 per hour. 


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience coordinating projects, doing community outreach, or coordinating volunteers
  • Demonstrated writing ability
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills


Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of the TimeBank and have experience with community building and outreach. The successful candidate will build strong relationships in the community to promote the TimeBank’s transportation project, be involved in planning and implementing outreach events, and be a flexible, engaged member of the outreach team. Candidates need to possess the ability to handle multiple tasks while prioritizing and meeting deadlines and providing good documentation and communication.  Candidates need to be adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of riders, drivers, and the project.


About Dane County TimeBank’s Transportation Project: Drivers for the TimeBank's transportation project help people needing rides to access safe transport. Rides can be for health related appointments, rides to food pantries or the grocery store, employment, social and recreational opportunities, misc. errands and appointments, and more. Approved drivers receive TimeBank hours for their time driving and earn gift cards for driving members. In collaboration with Dane County Transportation Services and local health providers, the TimeBank's transportation project fills gaps in services for those needing access to transportation resources.
