Letter Writing Campaign to End Violence Against Black Children

The Letter Writing Campaign to end violence against Black children began as a response to the arrest of black children and other forms of violence they face. In December of 2019 a 14 year-old was arrested at his middle school here in Dane County. It is an increasingly acceptable action here and across the country. This child is now in custody. Why is it acceptable for children to be locked behind bars? The goal of this campaign is to create greater visibility of this problem and decriminalize Black youth. The focus is on broadening the conversation and creating opportunities for people fed up with what we are witnessing to speak out through letters. We will launch this effort  April 24th from 5 pm to 7 pm. Your RSVP here gets you registration details for Zoom. Please join us. To register email damita@danecountytimebank.org
