Community Support Network Orientation
Social Justice Center1202 Williamson St
What is a Community Support Network?
Community Support Network is a new collaboration among community members who want to support restorative justice work at Lafollette High School. After attending an orientation, CSN members commit to attending restorative justice trainings, unlearning racism and contribute to the work of shifting the school from punitive measures grounded in power imbalances to a restorative approach that improves our ability to hear and respect the voices of every school community member.
How Does It Work?
Importantly, we delve into some of the historically produced iniquities that must be addressed in order to repair the harm of oppression and unfair social hierarchies.
Members commit to attending the Community Lab for Intentional Practice, a space dedicated to compassionate and unflinching racial justice practice. CSN members build collaborations that can repair the structural oppression and offer peacekeeping support to the Lafollette RJ coordinator.
How can I get involved?
The next Community Support Network Orientations are:
Monday, December 9, 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm
