100 Strong: Letter Writing for Justice for Dr. Susan Moore

zoom

Hello. We have decided to postpone this event in efforts to include and support the work of local Indiana organizers. We will reschedule the event soon. Call x Response and Disrupt and Act from Indiana will be joining us. We are working now to finalize a new date and time. Thank you again for your interest and engagement and we'll be in touch with the new date and time.

On December 20th, 2020, Dr. Susan Moore, a Black physician, died from complications of COVID-19 after receiving inadequate and racist lack of care from the Indiana University Hospital system.

Almost two months later, while we are still grappling with COVID-19 and attempting to address the racial pandemic in the United States, it is imperative that we continue to show up for Dr. Susan Moore and the countless other Black individuals who will be mistreated, dismissed, and silenced by the medical system.

The Transformative Action Network and 100 Strong invite you to join us on February 18th from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm in collective letter writing action as a response to Dr. Susan Moore's death and the history of medical mistreatment of Black individuals in the United States. Participants will be provided a template, time, and space to develop their letter to send to the President and CEO of the Indiana University Hospital System. Please also consider signing this Change.org petition to hold those responsible for her death accountable.

100 Strong is an emerging group of activists committed to offering non-violent, direct and collective responses to violence against Black people. Embracing ongoing creative, educational, and contemplative action, members are intentional about dismantling white supremacist culture through the cultivation of reflection, awareness, interdependence, gentleness, and long term resistance to forces of dominance.
